New Delhi: The country is once again witnessing a surge in corona infection cases. Today, Sunday, 45,083 cases of coronavirus have been reported in India. But, happily, this number is less than the cases that came on Saturday. In fact, last Saturday, 46,759 new corona cases were registered in the country, raising the concerns of the Government. The Union Health Ministry says that in the last 24 hours, 45,083 new cases were reported in a day of Covid-19 in the country while 460 patients lost their lives.

According to reports, 35,840 patients recovered today, Sunday, with a recovery rate of 97.53 percent. The number of active cases is 3,68,558. At the same time, the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) says that 17,55,327 sample tests for coronavirus were conducted in the country last Saturday. It also says, "A total of 51,86,42,929 sample tests have been conducted till Sunday.'' Kerala, the state with the highest number of infected cases among all of them, recorded more than 30,000 cases for the fourth consecutive day.

Let me tell you that the increasing cases of corona in the state have created a fear of a third wave among the people. The famous festival Onam was celebrated with great fanfare and after its celebrations, 1.5 lakh cases have occurred in the state in the last 5 days. The situation here is deteriorating but it is because of this that now Chief Minister P. Vijayan has imposed a night curfew in the state from next week.
