Amid the second wave of corona, PM Narendra Modi has asked chief ministers of all states to focus on villages. There is a huge shortage of resources in the villages as compared to the city. Prime Minister Modi has told the heads of all states that the epidemic has to be prevented from spreading to villages. However, the most common part of the strategy for corona control is maximum testing. Prime Minister Modi on Saturday also called for emphasis on door-to-door testing at a high level meeting. But it requires an affordable screening system.

The corona probe kit developed in Mumbai can play a revolutionary role. Mumbai-based startup Patanjali Pharma has developed an affordable kit with the help of DST under the Ministry of Science and Technology. The test kit developed by Patanjali Pharma will complement gold standard RTPCR and the currently available Rapid Antigen Test Kit.

IIT Bombay has also helped in the affordable Rapid Antigen Test Kit developed by this Mumbai startup. The kit provides testing at the price of Rs.100 per sample. Yes, it costs only Rs.100 and the inquiry report is also received within 10 to 15 minutes. The Centre for Augmenting War with Covid-19 Health Crisis, an initiative of the Department of Science and Technology, supported startups in July 2020 to develop corona rapid diagnosis (both rapid antibody and antigen testing for surveillance and early diagnosis of corona).
