Korba: District Magistrate of Korba Ranu Sahu has banned the public celebration of the New Year in the district. In this regard, a prohibitory order has also been issued from the Collectorate. In view of the increasing cases of Omicron virus of Corona in other cities of the country and the state, this order has been issued as a precaution in the district. According to the order issued, there will be a ban on organizing celebrations or parties in hotels and public places on the occasion of the New Year.

First time in the midst of the third possible wave in the Korba district, the number of corona positive patients has reached 21. In the data released on Thursday, 21 infected have been registered from the Korba district. These include 11 men and 10 women. 9 infected have been found from Katghora rural area, 6 from the urban area, 3 from Korba urban area, 1 from Pali block and 2 from Podi Uporda block. An 8-year-old girl is also included in the positive patients.

District Magistrate Ranu Sahu has urged the residents of the district not to panic but strictly follow the rules of Corona. He has instructed the persons found infected to be admitted to home isolation or Kovid centre according to their symptoms. Strict action will be taken for violating the order under the provisions of the Disaster Management Act 2005, Epidemic Diseases Act and Indian Penal Code 1860. In this regard, the District Magistrate has directed all the sub-divisional revenue officers, executive magistrates and police officers to take all necessary action to ensure compliance with the order.
