New Delhi: The Central government has asked all states and Union Territories to increase the data on immediate corona infection investigations. The Union Health Ministry has issued a letter asking the state and union territories to immediately increase testing in the hotspots and closed densely populated areas of corona in a strategic manner. In fact, the corona graph in India is now coming down a little bit. India has reported 2.38 lakh new cases in the last 24 hours, down 7.8% from Sunday. The infection rate has also come down slightly.
The positivity rate on Monday was 13.11% from 14.78% on Sunday. Cases of corona are also declining continuously in Delhi and Mumbai. Both of them were corona hotspots, where cases increased at a faster pace. But now both places here have been reducing cases for a few days. One of the reasons for the decline in corona tests is also being attributed to the new guidelines of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR). According to ICMR's new guidelines on corona testing, even those in contact with positive signs need not get a corona test done.
The ICMR's new guidelines say that only those who are above 60 years of age and who have a serious illness need to be tested for those who have a corona virus-positive patient contact. The government has placed the elderly and patients suffering from serious diseases in the high-risk category.
