New Delhi: A petition has been filed in the Supreme court amid the corona vaccination drive. It requests that the Supreme Court help all citizens of the country get free corona vaccine. For this, the Supreme court has been asked to direct the central government to formulate a policy in which all citizens should be vaccinated free of cost.
A total of 17,52,35,991 corona vaccines have been received in the country so far. The petition has been filed in the Supreme court on behalf of the Social Democratic Party of India. Advocate Selwin Raja has filed a petition demanding that the court set up an independent committee working under the supervision of the court to see that free corona vaccine should be administered in all states and union territories. The petition referred to Section 21 and said that all people in India have the right to free vaccine.
The petition said that the corona crisis is on the rise, people are dying due to timely treatment. At the same time, the funeral also has to wait for hours. The petition said that the expectation of such people rests only on the vaccine. Most people cannot afford to be vaccinated at different rates prescribed by the government. It is further written that if the poor are vaccinated free of cost soon, it can help in creating heard immunity.
