New Delhi: The Modi government of the Center has taken a big decision regarding the cheap treatment of coronavirus in private hospitals. Accordingly, empaneled hospitals under the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) will be able to collect fees from the beneficiaries of the scheme as per the rate fixed by the state government for treatment of coronavirus.

The Office Memorandum issued by the CGHS Director states that the beneficiaries of the empaneled private hospital scheme can be charged only on the basis of covid-19 treatment package rates prescribed by the State Governments. On behalf of the CGHS Director, it has been clarified that if the concerned State Government has not set the package rates then the private hospitals will charge for treatment of covid-19 as per the rates fixed by the Delhi Government. Then after fixing the package rate by the concerned state government, the fee will be revised.

Let us tell you that last month Delhi government had issued an order that all private hospitals in the capital can charge from 8,000 to 10,000 rupees daily for covid-19 isolation ward bed. At the same time, a fee of Rs 15,000 to 18,000 per day was prescribed for ventilated ICU beds.
