New Delhi: The Coronavirus epidemic has caused a lot of damage to the airline and the hospitality sector. Due to this, the job of 2 lakh employees working with the private airport operators of the country has started becoming a crisis. The Assessment of Private Airport Operators (APAO) has requested the central government not only to provide financial relief packages but also to maintain key infrastructure assets that keep the sector intact.

At present, the jobs of about 2,40,000 people working at airport sites are in danger, including those of airport operations. The impact of layoffs will be felt across the country as New Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and Hyderabad are some of the major airports handled by private establishments. At present, no domestic or international flight is allowed till April 14 due to the lockdown deadline. Only cargo operations are allowed, due to which the companies of these aircraft are suffering big losses.

The earnings of these aircraft companies have not only reduced, but there is a huge pressure on these companies to pay the revenue of many management deals related to the respective airports.
