This step has been taken after the appeal of some MPs, including Congress MP Vivek Tankha.

But in view of the coronavirus crisis that has come upon the country, this decision has been taken regarding the use of MP fund. All the MPs of the country are allocated an amount of five crore rupees as MP funds every year. Congress MP Vivek Tankha thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the change, saying, "I thank the Prime Minister and the Government of India for responding to our request to relax the rules of the Parliament Fund, including against coronavirus It is permissible to use public funds in war. This fight is the responsibility of everyone. ' He also said that MPs will now be able to help the administration in providing assistance to the needy people.

On this matter, Tankha said that now all MPs can reach the people through administration. By relaxing the rules for the use of MPLAD funds, MPs will now be able to reach the people through administration by ensuring the use of MPLAD funds. Now this amount can be used in the purchase of protective equipment, masks and sanitizers. However, according to earlier guidelines, MPLAD funds were used only for permanent work.
