New Delhi: The Modi government at the Centre has started giving a precaution dose of corona vaccine to people over 60 years of age, healthcare workers and frontline workers from Monday amid the third wave of corona in the country. The Health Ministry has informed that about one million people were given booster doses on the first day itself. Earlier, the 519604 healthcare workers, 201205 frontline workers and 263867 over 60 years of age were given precaution doses.

According to government guidelines, booster doses will be given to those who have been administered the second dose of the vaccine for 9 months. This means that if you took the second dose between January and March last year, you would be eligible for the third dose. Booster doses will no longer need to be re-registered. Because your account on Covin has already been created. Now just after the message arrives you can book the slot for booster dose through Cowin.

Just as the first and second doses of the vaccine have received the vaccination certificate, so will the booster dose certificate. This booster dose of the vaccine is absolutely essential to protect against corona. The new Omicron variant of corona in the current era has further increased its requirement. These days there is also talk of a precaution dose with booster dose. Many believe that these two are different. In fact, PM Modi had used a precautionary dose to replace the booster dose. But boosters and precautionary doses mean the same.
