After the start of the new year, the covid epidemic is looking to be relieved, but the infection has been increasing again. The Central Health Department reported on Friday morning that 39,726 new cases of covid have been registered across the country in the last 24 hours. This is the highest number of cases to be recorded in a day in the new year.

The ministry also said that 20,654 recovery and 154 deaths have been reported in 24 hours. A total of 1 crore, 15 lakh, 14,331 cases of covid have been registered in the country so far. Of these, 1,10,83,679 people have been cured so far. At present, a total of 2,71,282 cases have been active in the country and 1,59,370 deaths have been reported so far. On Friday, 39,726 new cases were reported, the highest in the last 110 days. Earlier, 41,810 new cases have been registered in 24 hours on November 29.

4 crore vaccinations done so far: It has been revealed that on the 63rd day of vaccination, India has surpassed the 4 crore vaccination mark with a best performance. As of 7 p.m. Friday, 18.16 lakh vaccines were vaccinated throughout the day. With this, the vaccination figure in the country has crossed 4 crore.

Of the 154 deaths recorded Friday morning, 48 were in Maharashtra only. After which 32 were registered in Punjab and 15 in Kerala. Maharashtra has had the highest number of deaths since covid. This was followed by 12,573 deaths in Tamil Nadu, 12,415 in Karnataka, 10,949 in Delhi, 10,300 in West Bengal, 8,753 in Uttar Pradesh and 7,186 in Andhra Pradesh. Of these, 70 per cent are deaths that were already in the disease.
