MUMBAI: When asked about the new 'XE' variant of Corona Infection (COVID1), Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope said, "The health department has not arrived at any confirmation on the 'XE' variant as no NIB ( National Institute of Biologicals) report is not there. There is no need to fear."

Rajesh Tope said that according to the news, the 'XE' variant is 10 percent more contagious than the Omicron variant, which is like the flu. We will talk about it in detail once we get the report; The confirmation report is not received from the Center or NIB, so the health department of Maharashtra does not confirm it. Let us tell you that the first case of 'XE' variant in India has come up in Mumbai. This variant is believed to be 10 times more frightening than Omicron.

An official of the Brihanmumbai Municipality said that this result has been found in the sequencing of 376 samples of the 11th batch in the Genome Sequencing Laboratory. Apart from this, one case of Kappa form has also been confirmed. The first case of the 'XE' variant came to the UK. Of the 230 samples sent to Mumbai, 228 were of Omicron while one was of Kappa and 'XE' variant. The officer said that the condition of the infected patient is not critical.
