New Delhi: The corona epidemic has caused a hue and cry in the country. corona has also negatively affected campus placements at the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IIT-G). Tell us that the placements in the 2020-21 season have declined by 8 percent overall. It may be recalled that in 2020-21, out of a total of 1,200 registered students, only 686 students, or 57.16 percent, got placements.
While the relevant figure for 2019-2020 was 692 students out of 1,060 was 65.28 percent. However, program students have received placements this year than last year. The good thing about all this is that the average salary of B.Tech and B.D.S. students has gone up to 21.41 lakh per annum, which is about Rs. 79,000 more than last year. The salaries of MTech and MDS have also increased well. This year there has been an increase of about 1.70 million compared to the placement season of 2019-20.
According to media reports, according to Dr Abhishek Kumar, head of the IIT-G Centre for Career Development said, 'Placement data should be considered an achievement and not a decline for students in view of the situation arising out of the corona epidemic in the world. They can face challenges arising out of the corona epidemic and secure and improve their future'.
