Corona infection is spreading in India faster than expected. In the last 24 hours, there have been more than 5600 cases of coronavirus in the country. During this time 140 people have died in the country. More than 1 lakh 6 thousand cases have been reported so far in the country. According to the latest data from the Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry, till Wednesday (May 20) at 8 am, 1,06,750 cases of coronavirus have been reported in the country, while the death toll from corona has also reached 3303.

According to the latest data, 61,149 patients of Coronavirus are currently being treated in hospitals in the country. 42,298 patients have been discharged from hospitals after recovering from corona disease. A senior health ministry official said that so far 39.62 percent patients have been cured in the country. Foreign citizens are also involved in the total confirmed cases. Out of 140 deaths reported since Monday morning, 76 were from Maharashtra. , 25 from Gujarat, 6-6 from West Bengal and Madhya Pradesh, five each from Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh, three each from Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Telangana, two from Andhra Pradesh. One death each has been reported in Assam, Jammu and Kashmir and Odisha and Punjab.

The highest number of cases of coronavirus has been reported in Maharashtra. According to the Health Ministry, so far 37,136 cases of coronavirus have been reported in the state. So far 9639 patients have been cured here. In Maharashtra, 1325 people have died from Corona. 12,448 cases in Tamil Nadu and 12,140 cases in Gujarat. In Tamil Nadu, 84 people have died so far, while in Gujarat 719 people have died.
