On Friday, 177 new cases of coronavirus were reported in Assam. This is the highest incidence of corona infection in a day in the state. The number of infected in the state has exceeded 1000. So far, a total of 1057 cases have come to light. State Health Minister Himant Biswa Sarma informed about this.

According to the media report, the Health Minister said that 30 cases were reported during the day on Friday, 25 in the evening, 89 at night and 33 at midnight. During the day, a dedicated COVID-19 treatment unit also started functioning at Guwahati Medical College Hospital (GMCH).

According to the Health Minister, out of the 33 cases reported at midnight, 11 were from Golaghat and Biswanath Charyali, nine from Udalguri and two from Darang. Of the 89 cases registered at night, 30 were from Kamrup, 17 from Tinsukia, 14 from Guwahati and Dhubri, four from Cachar and ten from Dhemaji. Of the 25 cases reported in the evening, six were air passengers, 11 were from Kamrup (Metro) and eight were from Hojai. Of the 30 cases registered during the day, 16 were from Golaghat, six from Karimganj and two from Lakhimpur, Cachar, Hailakandi and Karbi Anglong. According to the Health Minister, 24 patients were discharged from the hospital on Friday. So far 125 patients have been cured in the state. Of the total 1057 cases reported so far, 925 are active cases. Three have died, 125 people have recovered and three have escaped. According to a Health Bulletin, there have been 92,390 sample tests in Assam so far. Of these, 1,024 reported positive and 84,933 reported negative.
