An elderly woman, who returned from Delhi, died during quarantine in a village in the Rikhanikhal development block in Kotdwar, Uttarakhand. As soon as the information was received, there was a stir in the health department. According to the information, a 77-year-old woman came to Uttarakhand from Burari in Delhi with her family a few days ago. The woman was quarantined in a ward in a junior high school due to her coming from Delhi. It is being told that the woman was perfectly fine till late Saturday evening. Revenue Inspector Shambhu Prasad Mamgain said that he was already undergoing treatment for asthma. She was prohibited from climbing by doctors. He was also struggling to climb.

Her health suddenly deteriorated at five o'clock on Saturday evening and he died after that. Village head Manoj Rawat immediately informed the nodal officer / BDO. The joint team of Health Department and Revenue Department reached the spot on Sunday. Medical Officer-in-charge Rikhanikhal Dr. Rashid Khan told that he died due to asthma attack. On the request of the relatives not to do post mortem, their bodies have been handed over to the relatives. Tehsildar Sohan Singh Aswal said that while coming to Kotdwar from Delhi, thermal screening of all people was done in Kotdwar, in which the health of all was normal.

Health Department has increased sampling
The department has now increased sampling due to migrants returning from outside states in Uttarakhand. So far, individual samples are being examined in all the four government labs in the state. On this, the first case of corona infection was found in the state on March 15, Secretary Health Couple Kishore Pant said. Initially, due to lack of lab facility in the state, only 110 samples were tested from all over the state. Currently, apart from AIIMS Rishikesh in the state, three medical colleges Doonay Haldwani and Corona sample examination facility in Srinagar. Thousands of migrants from outside states have also increased cases of infection after the concession in the lockdown. Sampling has been increased to prevent corona infection. The labs themselves will do pooling sample testing once there are one thousand samples from all over the state.
