The Indian Embassy spoke of providing all possible assistance to send the Indians aboard the Diamond Princess cruise to Japan. The embassy has said that if they are not found infected with it during the last test of coronavirus starting on Monday, then there will be an effort to send them back to India as soon as possible.

For your information, let us tell you that out of 3,711 people on cruise, 138 Indian people including 132 crew and 6 passengers are on board. The cruise reached the Japanese coast earlier this month. On Sunday, the number of people infected with the virus on the cruise rose to 355. These include three Indians.

On this matter, the Indian embassy said in a tweet that the final test of coronavirus on the ship will begin on 17 February and will continue for several days. Hopefully, our Indian citizens will not be affected by this and will come back to their homes. The Indian embassy in Japan is ready for all possible assistance. The embassy further said that the condition of three Indians infected with the virus is improving. It is heartening to say that the health of all the three Indians infected with Coronavirus has improved and no new cases of infection have been reported from other Indians aboard the cruise.
