329,517 corona cases have been reported in the country in the last 24 hours. Meanwhile, 3,879 patients have died of the epidemic. The country has seen a decline in corona cases for the past few days. On the other hand, the number of corona testing has been reduced and this is when the infection rate is increasing rapidly. That means more people are getting infected now than before. The number of corona testing has been reduced in many states including Delhi, Kerala, Maharashtra, Telangana, Gujarat. Corona testing has been increased in Punjab, Haryana and Madhya Pradesh.
Testing decreased, infection rate increased, according to statistics:-
- On April 28, corona was tested at 20.68 lakh in the country and the infection rate was 18.7%.
- On April 30, there was 21.5 lakh tests and the infection rate was 18.2%.
- 17.61 lakh tests were conducted on 2nd May and the infection rate was 21.2%.
- 17.35 lakh tests were conducted on 4th May and the infection rate was 22.0%.
- On May 6, 17.44 lakh investigations were conducted and the infection rate was 22.4%.
- On 8th May, 14.66 lakh investigations were conducted and the infection rate was 26.7%.
- On 9th May, 14.74 lakh investigations were conducted and the infection rate was 24.85%.
Karnataka has the highest number of corona cases in the last 24 hours. In Karnataka, 39,305 new corona patients have been found, while 596 people died due to corona. The highest number of corona cases in the state are coming up in the capital Bengaluru, where 16,747 infected were found. A 14-day lockdown has been imposed to control the speed of corona infection in the state, which will continue till 6 am on May 24.
