Amid lockdown and corona infection, the Haryana government will distribute ration to 1.38 lakh poor families in May and June. This ration will be obtained through Distress Ration Token. Beneficiary families only need to show their Aadhaar card and token for this. These poor families are in addition to the poor and needy families of BPL, AAY and OPH category. These are truly poor families with no ration card or marked green ration card.

Apart from this, the government has also made it clear that if there is any kind of fraud during the distribution of ration to these extra poor families with the token system, action will be taken against both the depot driver and the inspector concerned. These families have been identified by the local committee set up at the district level. While some of these families are also those who sought the help of ration by informing them of their pathetic conditions on CM's Twitter. The Chief Minister had forwarded these applications on Twitter to the local committees. After which these people were also included in the government's Distress Ration Token Scheme.

For your information, let us tell you that for this, the Haryana government has sought thousands of tonnes of extra wheat from FCI and 120 tonnes of gram dal from Nafed. Wheat has started being received from FCI. The district supply and food inspectors have also started raising mercury. While the supply of pulses will start soon from NAFED. 5 kg of wheat per member and 1 kg of green gram per family are to be distributed to these poor people. This ration will be distributed at the ration depot under the supervision of local committees.
