Baghdad: The government of Mustafa al-Qadhimi, appointed to the post of Prime Minister, received a vote of confidence in Parliament on Thursday and put an end to the political turmoil that has been going on for more than five months. Al-Qadhimi, on behalf of MPs, and 15 of his candidates for ministerial positions, have been approved by the Affay News report.

These departments also include the Department of Defense and Interior, while four others have been rejected. With this, the election of nominees for the key posts of the oil and foreign ministries has been postponed for now. Let me tell you that Iraq is facing a major economic, political and institutional crisis due to all the protests in which more than 500 people have died.

At the same time, a state of public health emergency has arisen due to the corona epidemic. Amidst all this, the new Prime Minister will take charge of the country. Al-Qadhimi and 15 of his selected cabinet ministers have sworn in their positions after receiving a total of 266 votes out of 329 members present in the parliament session.
