A large number of employees did not come to the Uttarakhand Secretariat on Tuesday due to Corona. However, several secretaries including Chief Secretary, Additional Chief Secretary and Health Secretary went to the office. There was silence in the secretariat for the second day also due to the absence of employees. The Secretariat Administration Department has summoned the details of attendance due to the extremely low attendance of the staff in the Secretariat. The Secretariat became completely vacant when Cabinet Minister Satpal Maharaj was found to be Corona positive on Monday.

The union employees had appealed for a three-day self-home quarantine. The Chief Secretary and most of the Secretaries also did not come. After the report of the District Magistrate on Tuesday about Maharaj and the ministers, officers and other staff in the Cabinet, the Secretariat Union appealed to the Secretariat personnel to come to the Secretariat at their discretion. But a large number of officers and employees did not come to the secretariat.

The Secretariat Administration Department will check for attendance. Additional Chief Secretary Radha Raturi has issued a letter to all the Additional Chief Secretaries, Principal Secretaries, Secretaries and Secretaries in charge, asking for the attendance report of the employees posted in their subordinate sections. They have to submit this report to the SAD every day. He said that under the standard operating procedure, the presence of 33 percent of the available functionality in the Secretariat is necessary. But attendance in most departments was quite low. All have been asked to ensure 33 percent attendance till further orders.
