Regarding this matter, he has said, "If the situation remains the same, then the lockdown will not have to be re-installed in the old way. I do not have enough police to deploy a policeman at every store in the state. Now people will also have to follow social distancing themselves."

In a conversation with reporters through video conference after giving the exemption in lockdown, Vij said that now people will have to protect themselves.
