Along with this, gambling is being played in online gaming during lockdown but in addition the lives of children are being ruined. Along with this, in 2019, an Indian startup organized the biggest chess tournament. At the same time, within three hours of the announcement of the tournament, three lakh players registered and 1 lakh chess games were played. According to a report by Livemint, this online game was organized by Mobile Premium Leak (MPL), which is a real money gaming service. Server testing takes place before the tournament is held so that it does not sit during gaming.

Vishwanathan Anand is also the brand ambassador of MPL. In the tournament of MPL, the winner is given five lakh rupees, while the entry in the game is free. Along with this, 11 lakh rupees are also given to the winner in many tournaments. According to a report by Deloitte, online games such as poker and rummy are moving very fast over the years and meanwhile there is a huge increase in such gaming due to the lockdown. At the same time, according to Varun Ganju, marketing director of PokerBeing Game, there has been a 25% increase in traffic to his site and 20% increase in transactions. The earnings of online card gaming have been 258 crores in the year 2013-14 and 3,400 crores in 2017-18. The biggest reason for the rise in online gaming is cheap smartphones and cheap internet. Gambling is illegal in India, but different states have different laws for it. If you understand as an example, if a game is luck based then it will be considered gambling, while if a game is skill based, then it will not be counted in gambling.

Along with this, Sachin (name changed) is the Vice President of a marketing company. He started playing poker 10 years ago. Earlier he used to play in a club but now he plays online poker. Sachin says that online gaming is better, because you can play at home. Sachin plays 10-15 hours a day playing poker. According to Sachin, there are problems in the beginning but gradually you start earning money after understanding the game. In online gaming, people play games ranging from two rupees to 200 rupees according to their talent and experience. Many times online gaming companies also get new players to enter the tournament free of charge, and sometimes offer big offers. MPL has formed a special WhatsApp group for some of its female gamers.
