Lockdown 3 has been in place in India for a long time. After which, amending its policy of discharging corona patients from the hospital, the Health Ministry has clarified that now only serious patients and patients with weak immunity will be screened through RT-PCR procedure. Whereas, in low-impact, moderate-impact and pre-symptomatic cases of infection, investigation will no longer be required before the patient is discharged.

According to the rules applicable so far in this case, a patient was discharged from the hospital only after the report was negative on the 14th day and after 24 hours interval. The Ministry of Health said, the revised policy has been made in accordance with the guidelines applicable in three tier Covid hospitals.
