Scientists across the world are figuring to find out a vaccine for COVID-19. Many experts have made different claims regarding this. Now Russia has made a pleasing claim about its second vaccine. Alexander Rysikov, head of the zoonotic diseases and flu department at Russia's Vector State Research Center of Virology and Biotechnology, which developed the vaccine, says the vaccine guarantees the immunity against the virus for at least six months.

He also stated that the vaccine does not provide life-long immunity against the COVID-19 virus, but the vaccination can be repeated as needed. According to the Russian news agency, Ryzhikov stated that this vaccine produces an immune response between the mutations of COVID-19 virus, which is a good thing. He has also claimed that the vaccine has proven to be safe during the first phase of pre-clinical studies and clinical experiments.

According to the media reports, on July 21, clinical trials for Russia's second COVID-19 vaccine were approved, and on July 27, the first volunteer was given a COVID-19 dose. The experiment is expected to run till 30 September and will be registered by October, while production of this vaccine will also start in November.
