On Tuesday, the two countries held core commander-level talks in the Chushul sector to reduce tensions on the Line of Actual Control (LAC). Army sources said on Wednesday that the third round of the meeting between the Indian and Chinese armies lasted for 12 hours and ended at 11 pm. In the meeting, India has once again clearly stated that the Chinese army must retreat.

Sources in the Indian Army said that the Corps Commander-level meeting between the armies was held in Chushul on the Indian side to resolve the ongoing dispute with the Chinese along the Line of Actual Control in the eastern Ladakh region and to withdraw the army. Earlier, a two-round meeting on LAC was held on the Chinese side in Moldo.

The Indian contingent was led by Lieutenant General Harinder Singh, the commander of the 14th Corps, while Major General Liu Lin of the Tibet Military District was leading the China contingent. Army sources said that in the second round of core commander-level talks held on 22 June, the two sides agreed to retreat into the eastern Ladakh region by mutual consent. That is, the first round between the two countries held on 6 June. In this, there was talk on advancing mutual relations by resolving the dispute between the two countries in a peaceful manner. India had explicitly told China that it should position itself first on the LAC and immediately withdraw its troops from Galvan Valley and other areas, and it was agreed to withdraw troops gradually from Galvan Valley.
