These days south movies are breaking all the records and surpassing bollywood films. One of the most loved movies of this Kantara was dubbed and released in Telugu, Hindi, and Tamil released. Recently a music band accused Kantara makers for copying the song Varaha Roopam. Now court has given verdict in the case.

The Kozhikode sessions court on October 28, has apparently ordered the makers to stop playing the controversial song Varaha Roopam in theatres, apart from barring it from major music streaming platforms.Taking to Instagram, Thaikudam Bridge has since dropped a new post, explaining the verdict of the court. "The Principal District and Sessions Judge, Kozhikode has injuncted the producer, director, music composer, Amazon, YouTube, Spotify, Wynk Music, Jiosavan, and others from playing the song Varaaha Roopam in the film Kantara without the permission of Thaikudam Bridge."

Ealier Kerala-based band Thaikkudam Bridge made accusations of plagiarism against the hit Kannada film Kantara. The band said, the makers of Kantara lifted its song Navarasam for the film. They pointed out that the song Varaha Roopam from Kantara is a copy of its song Navarasam.

Sharing an Instagram post They claimed, “We would like our listeners to know that Thaikkudam Bridge is in no way or form affiliated with Kantara. The unavoidable similarities between our IP ‘Navarasam’ and ‘Varaha Roopam’ in terms of audio is therefore a blatant infringement of copyright laws. From our standpoint the line between ‘inspired’ and ‘plagiarised’ is distinct and indisputable and therefore, we will be seeking legal action against the creative team responsible for this. There has been no acknowledgment of our rights over the content and the song is propagated as an Original piece of work by the movie’s creative team.”

Speaking about the film, Kantara, which translates to the mystical forest, tells the story of a local demigod (Bhoota) who trades forest land to the tribe’s people with a king in 1870 in exchange for happiness. Many years later, when the king’s son grows greedy and wants the land back, he dies due to the wrath of Bhoota. Set in the fictional village of Dakshina Kannada, Kantara follows a Kambala champion, played by Rishab, who comes to loggerheads with an upright Forest Range officer, Murali (Kishore).
