New Delhi: Bharat Biotech International Limited (BBIL) has claimed that its corona vaccine for children, Covacin , has proven to be safe and disease-resistant. A press release issued by the vaccine manufacturer informed that the research has been accepted and published in the journal 'Lancet Infectious Diseases'.

Bharat Biotech conducted a Phase second / thirdmulticenter study to find out how safe the Covaccine vaccine would be if administered to healthy children and adolescents in the age group of 2 years to 18 years. Also, how will their body react after this and what will be the impact of it on their immune system?

It said that the vaccine was found to be safe in the results of trials conducted on children between June 2021 and September 2021, it did not have any significant effect on health and it was found to have increased immunity. This information was submitted to the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) in October 2021. It was approved for emergency use in people between the ages of six and 18.
