Guwahati: 1,057 new corona cases reported in Assam, the total number of patients in the state has crossed 75 thousand. State Health and Family Welfare Minister Hemant Biswa Sarma has given this information. He told that 8 more people have died in the state due to corona infection. Till now 182 people have lost their lives in Assam. He further informed that the total number of patients in the state is 75,558, out of which 53,286 people have recovered after treatment. The minister has tweeted late night on Saturday that 22,087 patients are undergoing treatment in Assam at this time.

He said, "The rate of infection of samples found in the investigation is 5.08 percent." The officers said that the cases that came on Saturday were the lowest in 1 day in August. In this regard, he further said that on just 3 occasions this month, the number of new cases has been less than two thousand. Officers said that on August 12, 4,593 new cases were reported in a single day. He said that "So far 17,05,526 samples have been investigated in Assam, which is 49,734 investigations per 10 lakh population". Sarma has further said, "The number of people recovered from the virus in our state is two times that of the patients under treatment. Officials said that the recovery rate of corona in Assam is 70.50 percent.

According to the medical bulletin released by the Health Department, 246 people have donated plasma in 5 medical colleges and hospitals so far. It was told in the bulletin that eighteen people from outside the state have also made contact to donate plasma.
