Tokyo: Emergency medical system has completely collapsed due to new wave of Coronavirus in Japan. Things have become so bad that hospitals are avoiding to recruit sick people. The number of people infected with the coronavirus in Japan has reached about 10 thousand. So far 190 people have died due to this epidemic.

It has been learned that 80 hospitals have refused to admit the person with symptoms of fever and difficulty in breathing. In a similar case, a person suffering from fever was admitted to the hospital after hours after being refused by 40 clinics. The Japanese Association for Acute Medicine (and the Japanese Society for Emergency Medicine) says that emergency rooms in many hospitals are refusing to treat victims who come for treatment related to heart attacks and external injuries.

It is also being said that the outbreak of the virus has exposed the inherent weaknesses in medical care in Japan. Experts have accused the government that medical staff are having difficulty in doing their work due to widespread lack of protective gear and equipment. There is a severe shortage of beds and medical staff in hospitals in Japan. People with mild symptoms of the virus are not being treated in hospitals due to congestion and lack of equipment. The Japanese Association for Acute Medicine and the Japanese Society for Emergency Medicine said in a joint statement that patients in the hospital are not treated. The reason is excessive burden on important emergency centers.
