India has reported 1,259 new COVID cases in the last 24 hours, according to the Union Health Ministry. As per data, India's active caseload has dropped to 15,378 today, following a declining trend. It accounts for 0.04 percent of all positive cases in the country.

In an official release, the Ministry stated, "There has been a steady decline in the weekly and daily positive rates as well." The country's weekly positivity rate is currently 0.25 percent, and the daily positivity rate is stated to be 0.22 percent.

1,705 people have recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of recovered patients to 4,24,85,534 since the start of the COVID pandemic. As a result, India's recovery rate is 98.75 percent.

In the previous 24 hours, 5,77,559 COVID-19 tests have been conducted, bringing India's total COVID tests to 78,79,32,913. According to preliminary statistics as of 7 a.m. today, India's COVID-19 vaccine coverage has surpassed at 1,83,53,90,499. A total of 1,36,84,215  children have received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine since the campaign began on March 16, 2022, for the age range of 12-14 years.
