Covid Roundup: India logs 13,091 cases, 13,000 recoveries in 24 hrs

In the last 24 hours, India has seen 13,091 new cases of the novel coronavirus, with 340 deaths as a result of the infection. According to data released by the Union Health Ministry on Thursday, the country saw 13,878 discharges in the last 24 hours, bringing the total recovery rate to around 98.25 percent, the highest since March 2020, and total recoveries data to 3,38,00,925. According to ministry data, the number of active COVID-19 cases in India has dropped to 1,38,556, to be the lowest in 265 days.

The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) reports that 61,99,02,064 samples have been tested for COVID-19 as of November 10. On Wednesday, 11,89,470 of these samples were tested. The country's total death toll now stands at 4,62,189. The first death from the COVID pandemic was reported in India in March 2020.

Meanwhile, on Wednesday, Kerala reported 7,540 new coronavirus infections and 259 deaths, bringing the total number of cases to 50,34,858 and the number of deaths to 34,621. Since Tuesday, 7,841 more people have recovered from the virus, bringing the total number of recoveries to 49,22,834 and the number of active cases to 70,459, according to an official press release.
