New Delhi: India reported 6,396 new COVID-19 cases on Friday, with a daily positive rate of 0.69 percent, according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. As per government data, India has 69,897 active cases, which accounts for 0.16 percent of all cases.

The recovery rate has increased, with 98.64 percent reported today compared to 98.62 percent on Thursday. In the last 24 hours, 13,450 people have recovered from the infection, bringing the overall number of persons who have recovered to 4,23,67,070. Throughout the previous 24 hours, 201 people have died in the country, bringing the total death toll to 5,14,589.

In the last 24 hours, a total of 9,23,351 tests were performed. The positivity rate for the week is 0.90 percent.

Meanwhile, the Delhi  health department on Thursday, the national capital has 326 new Covid-19 cases and three deaths. The percentage of positive was 0.77 percent. As per the health bulletin updates, the number of cases in the national capital has risen to 18,60,887, with a death toll of 26,130. COVID-19 tests were conducted 42,542 times the day before, as per report.

Meanwhile, 178.29 crore vaccine doses have been delivered so far in the ongoing statewide vaccination campaign against COVID-19.
