New Delhi: In the last 24 hours, India has seen 1,938 new cases of the novel coronavirus, with 67 deaths. According to data released by the Union Health Ministry on Thursday (March 24), the country saw 2,531 discharges in the previous 24 hours, bringing the total recovery rate to 98.75 percent and total recoveries to 4,24,75,588.
According to ministry data released today, the overall number of active COVID-19 cases in India has decreased to 22,427 (0.05 percent). The country's total death toll today stands at 5,16,672. The first death from the COVID epidemic was recorded in India in March 2020. Today's daily positivity rate is 0.29 percent.
Up till March 23, 78,49,52,800 samples had been tested for COVID-19, according to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR). On Wednesday, 6,61,954 of these samples were tested.
