New Delhi: India has seen 8,954 new cases of the COVID-19 cases, with 267 deaths as a result of the infection, in the last 24 hours. According to data released by the Union Health Ministry on Wednesday, the region witnessed a total of 10,207 discharges in the last 24 hours, bringing the total recovery rate to roughly 98.35 percent, the highest since March 2020, and total recoveries to 3,40,28,506.
According to government data released today, the overall number of active COVID-19 cases in India has decreased to 99,023. So far, the Nationwide Vaccination Drive has administered about 124.10 crore vaccine doses. The country's total death toll today stands at 4,69,247. The first death from the COVID epidemic was recorded in India in March 2020.
Meanwhile, Kerala reported 4,723 new COVID-19 cases and 177 deaths on Tuesday, bringing the total number of cases to 51,29,985 and the death toll to 40,132, according to the state administration. Since Monday, 5,370 more people have recovered from the virus, bringing the overall number of people who have recovered to 50,57,368 and the number of active cases to 43,663, according to an official release.
As per accounts, 19 of the 177 fatalities were reported in the previous few days, and 158 were labelled as COVID-19 deaths after receiving appeals based on the Centre's new rules and the Supreme Court's directives. In the last 24 hours, 59,524 samples were evaluated, according to the report.
