Amid the growing transition of Corona, Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Monday praised the frontline journalists who are covering COVID-19 and said that the state will give them an insurance cover of Rs 50 lakh.

Sonowal further said, 'Frontline journalists bravely covered COVID-19 against all threats. With his life at stake, he worked. He is our real hero. Our government will give life insurance cover of Rs 50 lakh to each of them. According to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the total number of coronavirus cases in Assam is 36.

The number of patients infected with Coronavirus is increasing continuously throughout the country. According to data released by the Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry, in the last 24 hours, 1543 new cases have been reported and 62 people have died, which is the highest ever. After this, the total number of corona positive cases across the country has risen to 29,435, of which 21,632 are active, 6,869 people have recovered or have been discharged from hospital and 934 have died.
