Canada: According to sources, Canada recorded 2,538 additional Covid cases on Friday afternoon, bringing the total number of cases to 1,801,405 with 29,747 deaths.
With 14 million citizens, Ontario is Canada's most populous province, with 1,031 new cases and four deaths. On May 30, when 1,033 new cases were confirmed, the province reported more than 1,000 new cases in a single day for the first time. 589 of the 1,031 new cases involved patients who had not been vaccinated, were only partially vaccinated, or had no idea if they had been vaccinated at all. People who had been fully immunised were implicated in the remaining 442 infections.
On Monday, 788 new cases were reported, followed by 687 new cases on Tuesday, 780 new cases on Wednesday, and 949 new cases on Thursday. With Friday's data, the total number of cases has risen to 621,260, including fatalities and recoveries. In Ontario, there have been six incidences of the Omicron variety thus far. With 1,355 new Covid-19 infections reported on Friday, Quebec, another populous province with 8.3 million residents, reported yet another high increase in daily new Covid-19 cases.
The province had confirmed 451,868 cases as of Friday, with 11,585 people dead. The province reported 1,196 cases on Wednesday, the largest number since April 24, then the figure reduced to 1,146 on Thursday.
