CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu Health Minister Ma Subramanian has urged people not to be too thrilled by the decline in new Covid cases, and instead to remain cautious of the disease's spread.

The minister noted in a statement on Saturday that the number of new Covid cases in the state has decreased from 30,000 to 10,000 each day, which he called as a significant achievement. He urged people to be more cautious in the coming weeks in order to bring the instances under control.

The Minister stated that the number of new cases has decreased significantly in districts such as Krishnagiri, Theni, and Tiruppur, owing to targeted efforts taken by the state health department.

Districts like Coimbatore, Chennai, Namakkal, and Ranipet, according to the state health minister, are also seeing a drop in cases. He stated that vaccination has aided in the containment of the disease, but that individuals must be more cautious and exercise self-control during festivities.

People should not treat themselves if they have a slight cold or fever, according to the Minister, but should instead contact a doctor and seek competent medical advice before starting any medication.
