New Delhi: India has once again seen a sharp jump in coronavirus cases. In the last 24 hours, 2,64,202 new cases of the coronavirus have been registered from across the country. While 315 patients died due to this. The death toll from infection has now risen to 4,85,350 in India after new cases of death came to light. The Union Health Ministry said new coronavirus cases registered from all over the country are 6.7 per cent higher than the previous day (Thursday). 2,47,417 cases of infection were registered in India on Thursday.

The health ministry said that the number of active corona infection patients in India has now increased to 12.72 lakh. According to official data, 1,09,345 patients were discharged on Thursday after recovering. After which the number of people recovering from corona so far has gone up to 3,48,24,706 in the country. The ministry said 2.64 lakh new cases of coronavirus have been registered today. While the number was 2.47 lakh on Thursday. Infection cases have seen an increase of 16,785 cases in just 24 hours.

Also, active cases in the country are currently 12,72,073, which is 3.48 per cent of the total cases. The daily positivity rate is 14.78 per cent. While the weekly positivity rate is 11.83 per cent. The recovery rate in the country is now 95.20 per cent. The Ministry has reported that more than 155.39 crore doses of the corona vaccine have been administered in India so far. More than 73,08,669 lakh people were given vaccine doses in the country on Thursday. According to the official report, the total immunization number in India has now gone up to 1,55,39,81,819.
