From Monday night, a night curfew will be imposed in Tripura. The night curfew in Tripura will begin at 9 p.m. and last until 5 a.m. the next day. Tripura's night curfew will be in effect for ten days, beginning Monday and ending January 20.

The state government of Tripura made the decision to enforce a night curfew in order to slow the spread of COVID-19. According to health experts, Tripura is anticipated to see a 'peak' in COVID-19 infections in January and February, as according to Tripura minister Sushanta Chowdhury.

"We will evaluate the situation before making any further decisions," Tripura minister Sushanta Chowdhury said in an Agartala press conference on Sunday evening.

Meanwhile, the Tripura government has imposed stricter restrictions, such as a 50 percent capacity limit in movie halls, sports complexes and stadiums, entertainment parks, and pubs. Tripura would allow gyms and swimming pools to operate at a third of their normal capacity.

Restaurants and dhabas will only be open until 8:30 p.m., with just half of their capacity. No public meeting will be allowed in open spaces.
