The NBL says the Illawarra Hawks Foundation is determined to stay here despite the vote of creditors to liquefy the club. The franchise has recently been placed under voluntary administration for the second time in five years, at which point NBL claimed ownership of the club's license from Simon Stratford.

The outstanding salary for players and employees adds up to about $ 750,000 of the $ 2m loan, although NBL recently committed to paying players the amount they each owed.
NBL said in a statement last week, "A total of eight players began receiving their first installment of their remaining salary and superannuation entitlement last month and all payments will be paid in full."
