Torino defender Kofi Zidji also scored a suicide goal in the second half. The Juventus made strong strides towards their 10th consecutive title improving their record with this win.

The team took a seven-point lead over second-placed Lazio, who suffered a 0–3 defeat against AC Milan. This was the 648th match of Juvent's Buffon in Italy's top league, leaving the 42-year-old goalkeeper behind former AC Milan veteran Paulo Maldini. Maldini set the record in 2009.
