crude oil futures On Wednesday,  slid 0.06 percent to Rs 5,345 per barrel as traders cut their positions due to sluggish demand. With 2,960 lots traded on the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for December delivery fell Rs 3, or 0.06 percent, to Rs 5,345 per barrel.

West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude oil was trading 0.78 percent lower at USD 70.18 per barrel in New York, while Brent crude was trading 0.58 percent lower at USD 73.27 per barrel.

Meanwhile, in the domestic stock market front, Indian equity benchmarks Sensex of the Bombay Stock Exchange ended lower in the volatile session on December 15. The NSE  Nifty stood below 17,300. The 30-scrip index ended 329.1 points or 0.6 per cent lower at 57,788 and the Nifty50 settled at 17,221.4, down 103.5 points or 0.6 per cent from its previous close.  According to exchange data, foreign institutional investors (FIIs) remained net sellers in the capital market on Monday, selling shares worth Rs 2,743.44 crore.

In mid-session dealings elsewhere in Asia, bourses in Shanghai, Tokyo, Seoul, and Hong Kong were trading with heavy losses.
