Bitcoin's price fell today in cryptocurrencies trading, although remaining over the USD42,000 mark. At USD42,256, the digital token was practically unchanged. So far in 2022 (year-to-date), the world's largest and most popular cryptocurrency is down about 8 percent. It's down around 30 percent from its all-time high of about USD69,000 set in November of last year.

On the other side, Ether, the cryptocurrency tied to the Ethereum blockchain and the second-largest cryptocurrency by market value, fell almost 2 percent to USD2,969. Shiba Inu was trading over 0.5 percent lower at USD0.000024, while Dogecoin was down 0.6 percent to USD0.12.

Other digital coins' performance was also varied, with Polygon, Litecoin, Stellar, Terra, and Solana falling while Polygon, Uniswap, Polkadot, and Cardano rose marginally in the last 24 hours. Meanwhile, according to CoinGecko, the worldwide cryptocurrency market capitalization increased to USD2 trillion in the last 24 hours, an increase of nearly 1 percent.
