Cryptocurrency prices today: Bitcoin, Dogecoin, Ethereum falls up to 2pc

Following a three-day period of lighter trade, Bitcoin and other major altcoins showed some decline on Monday. Bitcoin was trading about USD 40,000, while Ethereum was hovering around USD 3,000.

All other crypto tokens were trading down on Monday, with the exception of Solana and USD Coin. XRP, Cardano, Terra, Dogecoin, and Shiba Inu all lost 2 percent  of their value, while Ethereum and Bitcoin each lost 1 percent .

Investors are still processing rising prices, the likelihood of a recession, and the latest developments from Russia's unjustified invasion of Ukraine, so trading was weak during the holiday weekend.

The worldwide cryptocurrency market capitalization was trading at USD 1.85 trillion, down slightly over 1 percent  in the last 24 hours. The overall cryptocurrency trade volume, on the other hand, increased by nearly 21 percent  to USD 60.32 billion.
