The night curfew in Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara, and Rajkot has been extended till April 15 in view of the spurt in Kovid virus cases in Gujarat. Curfew was first issued in these cities by April 1. The night curfew in the above 4 cities is effective between 9 pm and 6 April. In an effort to curb the growing Kovid virus infections, the Gujarat government said that the implementation of the Centre's guidelines on testing, detection, and treatment, and other measures has been extended till 30 April.

The night curfew continues till November 2020 here. On 16 March 2021, the state government increased the night curfew by two hours due to an increase in coronavirus cases. The local administration extended that time by another hour. It has been learned that on March 30, the latest order came after the notification of 2,220 new coronavirus cases in Gujarat, taking the state's tally to 3,05,338. Ten more Corona patients died during this period, taking the death toll in the state to 4,510.

"There were 5 deaths in Ahmedabad, four in Surat and one in Vadodara. 644 new cases were reported in Surat, followed by 613 in Ahmedabad, 257 in Vadodara, Rajkot in 207 other districts," an official said. According to the latest data available, a total of 2,88,565 coronavirus patients have been discharged so far. Currently, Gujarat has 12,263 active cases. A total of 53,89,349 people were vaccinated so far, while 6,43,855 beneficiaries received the second dose of coronavirus vaccines.

Meanwhile, Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation Deputy Health Officer Mehul Acharya confirmed that the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA) brought the figure of coronavirus cases to 70. Acharya said, "They have set up a quarantine center and all Corona patients are housed in separate facilities. Their doctors and our team are regularly monitoring the health of the people they meet".
