Curfew in Shillong Relaxed, To Be Reimposed 4 PM

Shillong : The curfew imposed in Shillong agglomeration has been relaxed on Wednesday. In addition, suspended mobile internet services may also be restored in the Meghalaya capital. During the period of relaxation of curfew (from 5:00 AM to 4:00 PM of 18th August 2021), the following activities will be permitted:-Opening of essential and non-essential shops till 3:00 PM. shops will be separate. State and Central Government Offices, banks, offices of Educational Institutions, and private offices which have already obtained permission will be permitted at 3096 strength and shall close by 3:00 PM sharp. Inter and In. District movement of vehicles only having valid passes. Movement of the commercial vehicles will be permitted and regulated via separate order. Any public gathering, public meeting, rally, etc is not permitted. Only activities permitted by the Government vide Home (Political) Department Order No.POL,75/2020V1,1/109 dated 13.08.2021 as part of COVID-19 Regulations, will be permitted.

During the period of curfew (4:00 PM of the 18. of August 2021 onwards till further orders), The following will be prohibited:- Any public and vehicle movement. Offices. shops and establishments, and all educational institutions will remain closed. No kind of gathering, public meeting or rally may be held. 

Curfew Exemptions:- Medical emergencies. Covid-19 and hospital duty. Officers and staff of DIPR. Municipal Essential Services. MeECL Maintenance and Grid operations. Press and Media ( With valid Passes issued by DIPR) Pharmacies. In view of the urgency of the manner, this order has been made exparte and it shall come into force with immediate effect and remain in force till funkier orders.
