Srinagar: Curfew was lifted from Jammu and Kashmir's Kishtwar district on Saturday morning after some unidentified militants snatched the AKO-47 rifle of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) district president Sheikh Nasir Hussain's PSO. Some miscreants snatched the AK-47 rifle from PDP's Kishtwar unit district chief Sheikh Nasir's entry into the PSO residence.

The officer has said that the suspected terrorists fled after carrying out the crime. He said that the army, police and CRPF have surrounded the entire area and a search operation is being conducted to locate the rifle snatchers. The curfew was imposed in the city in view of the incident. However, according to DDC Kishtwar Angrej Singh Rana, all the schools in the district will remain closed till further orders.

Let us tell you that this is the second incident of this year of snatching of weapons in Kishtwar district. Earlier on March 8, some masked miscreants stole an AK-47 rifle and 90 bullets from PSO Dalip Kumar's house in Shaheedi Mazar. In fact, since the removal of Section 370 from Jammu and Kashmir, the terrorists have been furious and are seeking to unrest in the Valley, so the security forces are taking extra vigil.
