NEW DELHI: The sixteen year old Haryana young shooting sensation Manu Bhaker is all set to meet the next big leap. She said that she will now be paying equal attention to the 25m sport pistol category, in addition her pet 10m air pistol event.

Manu said she would send entries in both categories in the Munich (senior) and Suhl (junior) World Cups and Czech Republic tournament as TOI reported. She will also seek to earn quota places in both events at the Changwon World Championships in Korea which will be held from August 31 to September 15.This shooting event will double up the Olympic qualifier ahead of the 2020 Tokyo Games.

Manu’s intentions stand for Heena Sidhu may have some stern competition in both the 10m air pistol and 25m sport pistol events. At the Gold Coast CWG 2018, Manu had ducted Heena (silver) to grab gold in the 10m air pistol. However, Heena marked her dominance by clinching gold in the 25m sport pistol. Manu didn’t face  in the category.

While Manu may have uttered her intentions for the Changwon qualifier, everything will depend on what the National Rifle Association of India’s (NRAI) selection committee makes a decision.
