Cuddalore: Two persons were arrested by the Cyber Crime Police on Wednesday for allegedly altering images of a 31-year-old lady and uploading them on social media platforms.
G. Thangadurai, 44, and D. Ezhilarasan, 31, both of Panruti, were detained. According to police officials, after a disagreement, Thangadurai altered the woman's photo with morphed images and sent them to her WhatsApp number. The victim filed a complaint with Cuddalore's Cyber Crime wing.
A squad was in action to arrest Thangadurai and his friend Ezhilarasan, who assisted him in posting the images on social media platforms, on the orders of Superintendent of Police S. Sakthi Ganesan. A case was registered against them under Sections 292 (2) (a), 465, 469, 471 of the Indian Penal Code read with Section 67 of the Information Technology (IT) Act.
