PATNA: A total of 33 persons from Thalaposh village in Bihar have been arrested for their roles in cyber fraud. The raid was carried out on a tip-off from a local informer, according to Mukesh Saha, the SDPO of Nawada. As a result, a joint SWAT and Nawada police force invaded the village and detained the suspects.

"We have arrested the most cyber criminals in a single raid to date. Three laptop computers, over a hundred cellphones, one motorcycle, and other items were also taken from their possession "Saha remarked.

"We found that every day, a huge number of online con artists gathered in Thalaposh village to commit crimes. As a result, we notified the Nawada SP and assembled a huge squad consisting of officers from two police stations as well as a SWAT unit. The village was raided. The con artists had assembled in the village's agricultural field. They dispersed when they noticed the cops. We pursued them and were able to apprehend 33 of them "Saha remarked.

According to the police officer, some of the cyber criminals were able to depart the scene. To carry out the crime, they set up a virtual call centre in an agricultural area.
